I remember from documentaries that nobody wanted to carry the Apple I computer in their computer stores, so Apple took out an ad in a magazine for $666.66 for an Apple I computer. They sold out and paid off their loan with money left over.

So, Wozniak got rejected trying to see his design to a computer company, but the two Steve’s did manage to sell machines via a computer shop (possibly the only computer shop in the world, at that time).
