Not sure why this story links to blog spam instead of the underlying video.

Kudos to Professor Sachs for mentioning the 2014 coup in Ukraine and mentioning the role of western powers in engineering that overthrowing of the democratically elected Russia aligned government in Ukraine in 2014. That situation led to the invasion of Crimea and the current conflict. He also mentions there is an opportunity to resolve the war due to Trump. He also criticizes NATO expansionism and brings up the Minsk agreement. These are all things news outlets fail to cover.

Jeffrey Sachs makes good points sometimes, because he has a different worldview from most people. But he’s not without faults. He’s especially popular these days with two very online groups: CCP astroturfers who boost his criticisms of America and praise of the CCP, and pro Palestine anti Israel activists who boost him for sharing their views. These two topics are obsessions of his and even in this Ukraine focused video he goes to these points at the end. It’s hard for me to blindly trust his overtly anti American stance, especially when he can’t bring himself to criticize authoritarianism or terrorism.

Nah, what led to invasion was Putins wish to steal territories. And then, he did it again. Stop lying. Stop excusing Putin.

Russia is not a democracy. Ukraine was. That is why Russia invaded.

Ukraine is not a democracy either. After all, the result of a Democratic election was not respected in 2014 with the coup. And then the new government suppressed opposition in authoritarian ways. I agree Putin is an authoritarian as well, though.

I disagree that Putin is stealing territories. He is responding to NATO expansionism and NATO countries under mining things like elections that do not go their way to hurt Russia. Instead of accusing me of lying, which is against the site guidelines, I suggest researching those aspects further or watching the video that is linked here. The viewpoints usually presented in American and European media are incomplete and biased.

Coutries begging NATO to join is not something that requires response. And the countries begged to join NATO because they did not wanted Putin aggression. NATO membership was a threat for Putin only because he wanted to expand.

        And yes, you are lying.
